In this week’s collection review, Christian takes a look at the insane collection of a long time member of the watchfam. What started as a quest to collect a ton of vintage Wittnauer chronographs quickly evolved into a quest for far more elusive pieces, in the form of a range of Max Bill designed Junghans watches and clocks. When the Wittnauer boom hit, and the pieces went from obscure to incredibly valuable, our friendly neighborhood watch geek sold off most of his pieces and put that money, plus a bit, towards a true grail among grails: the Patek Philippe Nautilus.

So what does Christian recommend? He name drops a few brands, including Omega and Longines, but the true recommendation isn’t for a brand or a model in particular – it’s for the hunt, the near investigation that needs to occur to find a piece. That is what our geek of the week seems to be into the most, and we completely understand why.
