In this week’s collection review, Christian takes a look at the collection of a man many of you will recognize immediately for his roles in either the Pirates of the Caribbean films or for his work in The Lord of the Rings, while some of you will know him for some “extensive” TMZ coverage that Christian alludes to in the video, but I’ve been told not to put into print because YouTube. Either way, the thing about Mr. Bloom is that a great number of his pieces, including many (if not all) of the ones covered here.

His first piece, and perhaps one of the most interesting, is a Rolex 1016 Explorer on an Oyster Bracelet. This is the piece that landed the watch it’s icon status for having the Arabic 3, 6, and 9, and is, in a weird way, kind of undervalued when compared to some other, equally important vintage Rolex. Mr. Bloom also owns the sequel, the 1625 Explorer II, AKA the “Steve McQueen.”

Beyond this, he also owns a 6543 Milgauss (the freaking ORIGINAL), as well as a 6538 Submariner (an original BIG CROWN). Here’s the plot twist to end all plot twists, though – his collection, stolen as it may have been, was actually returned to him. Phew. As for suggestions, Christian immediately thinks that Mr. Bloom should go for a vintage, steel Rolex Bubbleback or, more interestingly, a vintage Panerai.
