In this week’s COLLECTION REVIEW, Christian dives into the very gold collection of a female watch geek!
The first piece is a yellow gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual, a gift from her father to her mother. It was a watch she grew up idolizing, and a piece she credits most directly with getting her into the hobby. When she got older, Paige herself finally landed herself a 1603 Datejust, and from there, the rest is history.
Following the Datejust was a yellow gold Day-Date, which she eventually modded to have a black diamond dial. One steel Royal Oak, and back to the yellow gold Rolexes with a Submariner before acquiring the Submariner Hulk. Still on the hunt for the perfect gold Rolex, Paige next picked up an Everose Yachtmaster on the Oysterflex bracelet, but this didn’t scratch the itch either. That satisfaction came from the Roex Datejust, reference 116238, a yellow gold 36mm Datejust with a champagne dial.
So what is it that we recommend? Well, Paige has mentioned her desire to include something that is a bit unique to her collection. The answer, and one Paige herself is into, is a Gevril Tribeca, either in steel or yellow gold. It was a homage to the Paul Newman, before the Paul Newman meant anything to anyone, so it comes across as more genuine, and it’s just f**king cool.
