Hunting for the Best Watch Collection in NYC (Ep. 1: A New Rolex)

Today, we’re in New York City to meet Ryan, a Rolex lover.

Our mission is simple. To find the best watch collection in NYC. Think you stack up? Do you have an heirloom Rolex? A spiffy Omega Speedmaster? A twinkling Tudor BB58? Email michael@theoandharris.com

Today, Christian and Michael head up to New York City to meet up with a Rolex geek named Ryan to talk about his collection!

The goal of this new series is very simple – to find the best watch collection in NYC. But what does that even mean? Well, it can mean a lot of things, from a rare and exciting reference, to a common watch in extremely rare condition. Or, in Ryan’s case, a very personal collection of Rolex models.

First up we have his two-tone Datejust with a silver dial and Jubilee bracelet. It’s a modern reference, though not the newest generation, and carries a ton of sentimental value not because of why he bought it, but rather because of the ways in which the watch has been by his side through the last year. Then we have an 114060 ceramic Submariner. Another modern piece, this Sub was purchased to mark Ryan’s promotion (to what exactly? That’s Top Secret clearance only, I’m afraid), and he intends to have the caseback engraved with his promotion date and initials at some point.

And then Michael pretends to be Christian for a little while, because why not?
