Precious, coveted, and insanely undervalued.
This is the Frederique Constant Classic Moonphase – it’s a hefty watch with an iconic and enviable dial design and in-house movement. It’s the full package – and it packs way more punch than its price point.
Let’s get into specifics – its case is 40mm in diameter, with a rose gold color, and rounded smoothly on all sides. While 40 may be slightly larger than the traditional dress pieces, this Frederique Constant wears conservatively – its generous, glossy case hugs the wrist and its simple design lacks clutter that would typically make the dial appear larger.
It’s case is relatively thick – at around 12mm, but its “hunter” case back swings open – much like a pocket watch would- to reveal a gorgeous, finely finished FC-715 caliber.
And finally, onto the dial – it’s dauphine hands sweep across a white sunburst dial featuring strong, faceted, stick hour markers, conservative branding, a minute & second index – and at 6, a completely breathtaking bright blue moon-phase with a date ring surrounding it.
Not only is it built to top notch standards of quality, this piece presents an opportunity to own a serious dress watch, with an iconic design, for well below retail. Its clean, powerful presence is modest but commanding – if this isn’t a perfect design, it’s pretty damn close.
