1) Do you think yellow gold is going to make a comeback?
Wait…yellow gold died??? In all seriousness, yellow gold as a case metal hasn’t really died so much as become, wrongly, associated with the wrong kinds of people. However, that association can’t last forever, and all it’ll take is the right person wearing a yellow gold watch while doing something classy to dispel that notion.

2) If you had to live somewhere not New York, where would you go?
For Anna, the answer is basically anywhere, but Christian is pretty much New York or some small farm village in Sorrento, Italy.

3) How has COVID-19 impacted T&H?
For us, the impact hasn’t been too significant, and really all of the impact we’re feeling has been positive in terms of productivity and brands being able to reach out to us to produce content in lieu of SIHH and Baselworld. Of course, that’s not to say that the nature of the pandemic is lost on us, but it does put us in a unique position.

4) Will the Rolex Hulk be discontinued this year?
There’s no way to know for sure, since we don’t know exactly what any of the Basel and SIHH brands will be doing to compensate for the lack of the shows, but it seems possible that Rolex could. As far as other releases, we’d love to see a grey dial Submariner, a tribute to the ghosted bezel models of yore, alongside perhaps a yellow gold Nautilus and something with AP’s CODE 11.59 line.

5) How does the Datejust we have in the shop turn Salmon?
It’s impossible to know for sure, but our best guess is that either the paint on the dial or the dial’s coating was in some way defective, and decades exposed to the elements simply tarnished it into the salmon color seen today.

6) What inspires Christian’s sense of style?
Traditional American style sensibilities with a more modern flare for fit. People like JFK certainly, and even down to people like Hemingway.
