In this week’s episode of RANT&H, Christian dives (pun intended?) into the newest release from Vacheron Constantin – The Overseas Dual Time.

The piece was released at the 2017 Dubai Watch Week, and is by no means the first dual time produced by Vacheron, and certainly not the first Overseas to have that complication. So what makes it so freaking special?

For starters, the dial configuration is brilliantly organized. We have a date subdial instead of a date window, which is a matter of taste, but Christian and I happen to think it works way better at filling up otherwise unusable space on the dial that may have otherwise been taken up by a block of text or something similarly egregious. Next, the dial color options, which in both white and blue, serve as very standard options, but classically so.

And then we get to value. The biggest thing, obviously, is what you get when you purchase the watch. You don’t just get the piece, nor do you get the piece and some kind of strap changing tool (irrelevant in the world of the Overseas, given VC’s proprietary lug design), but you get the bracelet, a rubber strap, and a leather one to round out the set, giving you everything you need to make this piece a true every day watch.
