From The Curator
The Aquastar 63 is a legend – it’s one of the earliest dive watches to be rated past 200 meters and to feature an internal bezel. Founded in Geneva in 1962 as a sub brand of Jean-Richard, the Aquastar name came with a self explanatory use: watches to be used in and around water. Double stamped “DuWard” as a means of evading on the dial trade tariffs in Europe prior to the formation of the European Union in November of 1963, this 63 is as interesting as it is gorgeous. With a case diameter of 38 millimeters, lug width of 19 millimeters, it was a significantly large watch for its release in the 1960’s, too. The case of this particular Aquastar 63 is in great condition with no significant nicks or scratches on its stainless steel case, leaving room for character building of the watch. It features a nice brown patina throughout the dial with an automatic movement powering this iconic timepiece.
And of course, it comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and appraisal and is shipped carefully and fully insured via UPS expedited service.
