Rolex Air King “Circle Bar”
The Air King doesn’t get the credit it deserves. It’s a historically rich cornerstone to the Rolex name and frankly, hardly anyone knows. Conceived in the 1930’s to specifically serve the British Royal Air Force, the Air King has been synonymous with heroism (by the Rolex community) since. Pretty cool, right?
Fast forward to 1979 and the Circle Bar Drilling Company, founded by American business magnate Patrick F. Taylor, gifted Rolex Air Kings with their company logo at six decorating the dial to praised employees.
This is one of those watches. It features a razor sharp unpolished steel case, immaculate smooth bezel, flawless tritium dial and dagger hands. Frankly, even putting aside the Circle Bar logo, this watch is terrific. But with it, it’s a legend.
I get to play with a lot of incredible watches but to share this Air King with you is an absolute honor.
