I have high standards, no doubt. For me to consider it worth owning, a vintage watch has to be original, well kept, interesting and ultimately, beautiful. Finding watches to meet these standards is a brutal task but, once in a blue moon, I'm blown away. This time, it's this vintage Rolex Reference 1002 that has far surpassed those standards. Not only is the dial mint, case sharp and movement immaculate but it comes along with some really important goodies. Let's take a step back for a second : In 1973, this Rolex 1002 was purchased by the Coca-Cola company and gifted to a Mr. William Bond for his 25 years of service to their Baltimore bottling branch. Since, it's been scarcely touched – retaining not only its sharp original finish to its 14K yellow gold case but its clean factory dial but its Rolex buckle, hang tags, outer box, inner box, chronometer paperwork and Oyster pamphlets. This is the type of vintage watch that I will talk about for a very long time, it's one of the best I've ever owned and I couldn't be more proud.
