From The Curator
The Rolex “Serti” dial is one of the more interesting dial variations you can come across without inching into the territory of the “uber rich.” Typically found on Submariners (such as this) and GMTs, the name “Serti” comes from the French word “sertir” which, in the context of jewelry, means “to set” as with gems. A closer look at a “Serti” dial Submariner reveals why. The dial here is pretty normal on the surface, but closer inspection reveals small diamonds for the hour indices, with the exceptions being at the 12, 6, and 9 o’clock positions where typically blue sapphire is used. Beyond the dial, the watch is your typical 16613 Submariner in stainless steel and 18k yellow gold. 40mm in diameter, the watch is 300 meters water resistant which means that, despite it’s inherently luxury, blingy design language, it is still an incredibly capable sport watch.
And of course, it comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and appraisal and is shipped carefully and fully insured via UPS expedited service.
