About the maker
Lineage is important- read up.
Seiko – In Tokyo, 1881, Kintaro Hattori made the best decision of his entire life: he launched the Seiko watch company, and forever solidified his place in horological history. Since its creation, Seiko watches have been loved, hated, and most certainly have caused controversy. The brand reconstructed the idea that only the Swiss can make great watches, it pushed traditional designs into unique cases and dials, and perhaps most significantly, it sparked the ‘Quartz Crisis’ in 1969 with the release of the first quartz watch, the Seiko Astron. Seiko watches are significant because they are a true species of their own; from the ‘King’ to the ‘5’ series, these watches have cemented their place in the market, and continue to dominate the Japanese movement arena. But most importantly, Seiko’s are cool, and everybody wants a cool watch.
