FROM THE CURATOR
In 1954, Universal Genève commissioned the production of a bold dress watch with twisted lugs and a bullseye dial to celebrate Scandanavian Airline Systems’ polar flights from New York/LA to Europe. It was designed by a 23 year old rookie, Gerald Genta. Little did they know, this watch, the Polerouter, would be the first of his championed career. From there, Genta went on to become the legend responsible for not just Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus, but the creation of the luxury sports watch itself.
This Universal Genève Polerouter, with an absolutely immaculate gloss dial, sharp lugs and original custard lume, is a perfect representation of the beauty of the Polerouter.
And of course, it comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and appraisal and is shipped carefully and fully insured via UPS expedited service.
