Stop Treating Your Watches Like an Investment

If you want the best piece of watch collecting advice I can possibly give you, here it is: Stop treating your watches like investments, get out of your comfort zone, and start making actual memories with them.

In today’s video, I get incredibly honest about my own “comfort zone.” For years, my travel felt like a white-collar Groundhog Day. Sure, wearing my Rolex Datejust to Minetta Tavern with my dad, or my grandfather’s Patek Philippe on Easter are special memories, but beyond that? I had an apathetic relationship with my watches. They were trapped in a luxury jail cell.

That all changed when I picked up a new hobby: Hunting. I traveled to a muddy ranch in Menard, Texas with G3 Outfitters, strapped a luxury Piaget to my wrist, and finally started taking my own advice. Whether it’s an early 2000s Omega or a rare Rolex, you need to wear your watches out in the real world. You and your soul will be richer for it.
